On May 19, the “Arab Summit” is hosted by Saudi Arabia.

In preparation for the upcoming thirty-second Arab summit, the League of Arab States has announced that the summit will be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 19, 2023. Prior to the summit, senior officials and ministers will participate in a series of preparatory meetings over the course of five days. According to Ambassador Hossam Zaki, these meetings will set the groundwork for the summit. The main discussion topic for the summit, according to Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, will be focused on providing economic aid to needy Arab regions. Consultations between the Arab League and Saudi Arabia are still ongoing to determine the summit’s agenda, according to Counselor Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States announced, next May 19, a specific date for holding the thirty-second Arab summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following consultations between the League and Riyadh regarding the appropriate date, and the Kingdom’s welcome to host the summit at that time.
“The summit will be preceded by several preparatory meetings at the level of senior officials and ministers, paving the way for it to be held over a period of 5 days,” said Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General supervising the affairs of the Council of the League of Arab States.
And the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, had suggested, in press statements, during his visit to Lebanon in the middle of this month, that the main topic of the Arab summit conference in Saudi Arabia would be “economically, and deals with how to help the needy Arab regions.”
A few days ago, Counselor Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that “consultations are continuing between the Arab League and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to come up with the best possible crystallization of the agenda of issues that occupy the forefront of joint Arab action.”
