The statement proposed an amendment to Article 34 of the Constitution related to the National Elections Authority Law, requiring complete supervision of polling and sorting during elections and referendums by members of judicial authorities with a designated judge for each box.

The Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue extends its thanks to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for his prompt response to what was issued in the statement of the Board of Trustees of the National Dialogue, in their last meeting, corresponding to March 26, 2023, concerning a proposal related to a legislative amendment in the National Elections Authority Law, Article ( 34) of the Constitution. Polling and sorting, in elections and referendums taking place in the country, must be completed under the full supervision of members of the judicial authorities and bodies, with the system of a judge for each box.
President El-Sisi announced a while ago, through his official accounts on social media, that he is following up on the course of the dialogue, and praising the efforts made by all those in charge of the national dialogue. Appreciating what was discussed during yesterday’s session regarding the legislative amendment that allows for full supervision by the judicial bodies of the electoral process, and the President directed the government and the concerned agencies in the state to study this proposal and its implementation mechanisms.
