Premier aperçu d’Apple Music Classical | iGeneration (AMP)

Apple Music Classical will be available in France from tomorrow, but it is possible to have it today with a little fiddling. We dusted off our Apple account located in New Zealand, and surprise: the download is not blocked! What to take a first look while waiting for the official release.

As a reminder, this complementary app to Apple Music has the advantage of being entirely designed for the classic. A genre that indeed requires some complicated functions to be inserted into the standard version, including a search engine to sort by composer, work, conductor, etc. Apple boasts more than 5 million songs and obviously gives pride of place to spatial audio.

Not surprisingly, the app looks a lot like the standard version of Apple Music. The “Explorer” section offers to choose according to different criteria, and instruments can be selected in the section of the same name. Clicking on a recording makes it easy to find who is the composer, who is the orchestra, who is at the piano, etc.

Apple has released a good selection of portraits for the occasion, brightening up an interface that is not exactly stunning. On the homepage, Cupertino highlights exclusive albums as well as a “The Story of Classical” list to discover the genre. A guide is offered to take you around the app… but all of this is only available in English.

We will have the opportunity to return to Apple Music Classical in a detailed overview which will be published in the coming days. The app is available in preorder on the French store. You will need an iPhone with iOS 15.4 to take advantage of it, as well as a subscription to the service (excluding the Voice formula). Remember that an iPad app is not planned for launch.

We made fun of the voice search engine of the Apple Music Classical app earlier, but things are finally getting better over time. Even though he doesn’t spell “Bach” correctly, the results are now more relevant.
