The two followed several downhill tracks, but came to a halt at 2,650 m above sea level. The mountain rescuers saw the two through the binoculars before the fog fell.
“This enabled us to navigate them out of the danger area. We reached them in the area of the glacial lake, in safe terrain. The two were uninjured, but exhausted,” says the operations manager of the Enzingerboden local office. After first aid, they were brought back to Enzingerboden. Heavy snowfall, fog and diffuse light made the descent more difficult than expected.
