In a second accident that occurred a hundred meters following the initial one, the Verviers ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Traffic was affected, and the highway was completely closed until 1 p.m. when access to the E40 towards Liège was finally restored. The commander emphasizes the importance of maintaining a security corridor for emergency vehicles in order to reach the scene safely.
