Kali-Darikans’ uprising blocked by youths due to stalled fireworks, causing disappointment

Disheartened youngsters put an end to the Kali-Darikans protest in Chelakkara following the Kav Vela’s final firework got canceled yesterday morning at 2:30. The police announcement of no fireworks enraged the group of locals who stopped the panchavadyam for the Kali-Darikans, who were making rounds around the temple. This resulted in an altercation between the youths and adults, but the youngsters backed off when they realized the arrival of the Kali-Darikans was the crucial function of the vela, thus continuing with Ezhunnallipu.

Moving on, Kutanchery Sri Rama temple will witness the Sri Rama Navami celebration, starting from today until the 30th. Each day, special pujas, lamp worship, Keli, Chuttu Vilak, and multiple art and cultural programs will take place. Tantri Iouikat Narayanan Namboothiri will be the principal worker. On the 30th, under the leadership of the youth club, the temple will visit the Kutancheri Ayyappa temple at 2.30 pm and reach the Sri Rama temple in the evening. Lastly, there will be a Panchari Melam at 6 pm.

Chelakkara – Disappointed youths stopped the protest of Kali-Darikans due to the cancellation of the final firework of Kav Vela. At 2:30 yesterday morning, the police announced that there would be no fireworks. Angered by this, a group of local youths stopped the panchavadyam in front of the Kali-Darikans who were going around the temple.

Later there was an altercation with the youth and adults. When they realized that the arrival of the Kali-Darikans was the main function of the vela, the youths retreated and resumed Ezhunnallipu.

Sri Rama Navami celebration in Kutanchery

Erumapetty ∙ Sri Rama Navami celebration at Kutanchery Sri Rama temple will be held from today till 30th. Every day there will be special pujas, lamp worship, Keli, Chuttu Vilak and various art and cultural programs. Tantri Iouikat Narayanan Namboothiri will be the chief worker. On 30th at 2.30 in the followingnoon, under the leadership of the youth club, they will visit the Kutancheri Ayyappa temple and reach the Sri Rama temple in the evening. Then there will be a Panchari Melam at 6 p.m.
