Pertamina Fuel Ship Burns, Pertalite Stock Safe?

Merdeka.com – Ship MT Christin which is a transport ship BBM which was leased by PT Pertamina (Persero) caught fire in Mataram Waters, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday (26/3) followingnoon. The ship was reported to have transported around 5,900 KL of Pertalite for two fuel terminals (TBBM) in Lombok and Bali, namely TBBM Ampenan and TBBM Sanggar.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jatimbalinus Acting Area Manager, Communication, Relations & CSR, Taufik Kurniawan said, despite this incident, Pertalite fuel stocks for the two TBBMs were still safe.

“For the supply of fuel, we ensure that the Ampenan BBM terminal stock is safe. Currently Ampenan TBBM has Pertalite stock of 3,200 KL with a coverage day of 3 days,” he explained in Pertamina’s official video broadcast, Sunday (26/3).

“Then TBBM Sanggar has 4,200 kiloliters with a coverage day of 4.5 days. That was the real time position when I made this statement,” explained Taufiq.

Meanwhile, for the supply transfer scheme, Pertalite stock from the MT Christin will be transferred to the MT Olimpia with a load of 2,500 kiloliters. The ship, which was going to dock at TBBM Bima, was towed first to supply supplies to TBBM Ampenan in Mataram City.

“Then we will make sure that the Ampenan and Bima TBBM are able to support the fuel needs on Lombok Island,” added Taufiq.

As for the supply of Pertalite fuel to Bali, he ensures that it is safe. This is because, apart from having Sanggar TBBM, fuel stocks on the Island of the Gods are also secured by the very large supply from the Manggis Fuel Terminal.

“So now we are temporarily diverting our supply pattern via land from Manggis to Ampenan, while waiting for the Elizabeth 1 ship which is planned to dock tomorrow March 27 carrying a Pertalite cargo of 1,000 kiloliters,” he explained.

“Therefore, we hope that the public will not panic, because we will ensure that fuel stocks on the islands of Lombok and Bali are safe,” he stated.
