Al-Sayed credited the price drop to various factors, including the increase of poultry supply following new breeding cycles, the introduction of Brazilian poultry into the markets, as well as a decrease in demand following the end of Ramadan when families finished purchasing their poultry needs.

The current market prices are as follows: live poultry costs 75 pounds per kilo (down by 10 pounds in a week), Albania costs between 140 and 160 pounds per kilo (down by 20 pounds in a week), hips cost between 80 and 85 pounds per kilo, and wings cost 50 pounds per kilo. In recent times, poultry prices in the local market have been increasing significantly, reaching 90 pounds per kilo at the farm, and the cost of dairy poultry became 180 pounds per kilo.

The market also experienced a feed shortage crisis due to the accumulation of goods in ports, along with a lack of dollars and the implementation of the documentary credits system, which led to some poultry farms destroying quantities of chicks, causing widespread controversy. Importers and manufacturers also faced a crisis of production requirements due to delays in opening documentary credits and the slow management of currency by banks, according to sources who spoke to Masrawy in the past.

According to data from the Poultry Division, Egypt produces regarding 1.6 billion birds annually, satisfying regarding 95% of the demand for poultry in the country, and the gap between production and consumption does not exceed 5%.
