The ChatGPT OpenAI chat bot developer has named the reason for the leakage of users’ personal data to the network.
According to the developers, the leak was due to an error in the work of artificial intelligence (AI).
“Some users might see the names and surnames of other active users, as well as their email addresses, billing addresses, the last four digits (only) of credit cards and their expiration dates,” the message says.
In total, the data breach affected regarding 1.2 percent of the chatbot’s subscribers, according to the developer company.
Earlier, OpenAI released a report warning chatbot developers that the new GPT-4 language model might be used to generate persuasive disinformation. According to experts, humanity is not far from creating a dangerously strong artificial intelligence (AI).
