In the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), they announced a violation by Azerbaijani troops of the line of contact in the Shushi-Lisagor section. The authorities immediately informed the Russian peacekeepers of this violation.
“On March 25, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, once once more violating the obligations assumed by the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, violated the line of contact fixed by this document in the Shushi-Lisagor section, and ensured a certain positional advance on the territory of the Republic of Artsakh (the local name of the NKR),”— reported in the information headquarters of the NKR (quote from “News-Armenia”).
Also, the NKR denies Azerbaijan’s statements regarding “the use of the Stepanakert-Gaibalishen-Lisagor mountain road allegedly for the transport of ammunition.” Under the blockade that began on December 12, this mountain road is used to organize civil and urgent communication between Stepanakert and four communities in the Shusha region, the information headquarters recalled.
Today, March 25, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported that appropriate measures had been taken to prevent illegal use of the roads located near the Lachin corridor.
Azerbaijan blocked the Lachin corridor at the end of 2022. This is the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, there are Russian peacekeepers in the corridor.
