Adoption of Summer Time Declared by Archbishoprics and Schools

The Maronite Diocese of Antelias has announced that it will adopt daylight saving time to schedule masses and prayers. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zahle has also committed to universal time in regards to prayers, masses, and religious celebrations. The media office in the Melkite Roman Catholic Diocese of Ferzol, Zahle and Bekaa issued a statement confirming their commitment to universal daylight savings time to continue their openness to the international community. In turn, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zahle announced its commitment to universal time with regard to the times of prayers, masses and religious celebrations.

The media office in the Melkite Roman Catholic Diocese of Ferzol, Zahle and Bekaa issued the following statement:

After the confusion surrounding the issue of daylight savings time, His Excellency Bishop Ibrahim Mikhael Ibrahim announces the commitment of the Diocese of Al-Farzel, Zahle and Bekaa to the Melkite Roman Catholics, the Universal Daylight Savings Time with regard to the times of prayers, masses and religious celebrations, in order to ensure that we continue our commitment to openness not only to our Arab surroundings, but also to the international community. As a whole, at a moment when Lebanon needs its rapid return to the bosom of this international community, we therefore ask the evacuation priests to advance the times of prayers and masses by one hour, starting from midnight Saturday – Sunday 25-26 March 2023.

The Public School had also announced, in a post on its social media page, its adoption of the universal time.
