Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev sees no obstacles for the transition of Russian sports federations from Europe to Asia. He stated this in an interview with Russian media.
“Regarding the transition to the Asian federations: if it is beneficial for the athletes, why not? Somewhere it gives pluses, somewhere gives minuses. But where the level of the Asian federation is high, it is necessary to move on. If anything, we will return later or stay there, ”Medvedev is quoted as saying. TASS.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council noted that China is a worthy opponent in all sports. “They still play hockey so-so, but I’m sure they will play very, very well soon,” he added.
At the end of February, the Russian Chess Federation (RCF) became the first Russian sports federation to make the transition from Europe to Asia.
Due to sanctions from UEFA and FIFA, Russian clubs and teams cannot take part in international competitions. At the end of last year, the RFU executive committee created a working group that will deal with the issue of transition from UEFA to the Asian Football Confederation. She will study the issue of moving to Asia, all the pros and cons.
