Ricardo Zielinski would be the new technical director

It transpired that Ricardo Zielinski is the one chosen by Fabián Doman and his collaborators to take over the Independiente squad. They would announce it on Sunday.

After a brief stint at Nacional de Montevideo, Ricardo Zielinski was one step away from becoming the new coach of Independiente, which is immersed in a football crisis.

In a hectic week, following the departure of Leandro Stillitano and the refusals by other candidates, the club’s leadership met with Zielinski’s representative to bring the parties together and reach a contractual agreement.

After a positive meeting, the Avellaneda club authorities offered the experienced coach a contract until next December.

The official announcement would be following Sunday’s game, for the Argentine Cup, once morest Ciudad de Bolivar and in which Pedro Damián Monzón, currently in charge of the reserve, will lead.

With the probable arrival of Zielinski at Independiente, there would be nine strategists who led both the red team and Racing, Sebastián Beccacece being the last in 2019.

In addition, Independiente would be the twentieth team led by “Russian” Zielinski, who began his long career as a coach in promotion clubs.
