Kerala’s Project for National Highway Development Receives Approval of ₹804.76 Crore from Deshabhimani

On Saturday March 25, 2023, the state government of Thiruvananthapuram received central approval for two national highway development projects. The Public Works Department was granted an Rs 804.76 crore project for the development of National Highway 85 Adimali-Kumali and 766 Malaparam-Pudupadi roads, with Rs 350.75 crore allocated for land acquisition for Adimali-Kumali National Highway development and Rs 454.1 crore for Malaparum-Puthuppady road connecting Kozhikode and Wayanad. The project also includes the Koduvalli and Thamarassery bypasses, which were important requests from the state government. Additionally, a project proposal to upgrade 35 km of National Highway 766 was submitted, with financial permission available for land acquisition for a two-lane road with paved shoulders.
