Recruitment in Luxembourg At Moovijob Day, candidates not necessarily in a position of strength

LUXEMBOURG – The recruitment fair, which brought together 200 companies on Friday, was an opportunity for candidates to submit CVs. With more or less success.

“In an increasingly tense labor market, with a shortage of candidates, the balance of power between recruiters and recruits is being reversed,” said Florane Giolat, Communication Manager at Moovijob.com, which organized Friday the Moovijob Day recruitment fair, at Luxexpo The Box.

Met in the aisles of the show, Julien, who is looking to retrain in the health sector, brings a nuance. “An experienced candidate is in a position of strength, judges the mason. I am already registered with a number of temp agencies. Before coming, I had already applied to certain companies, but I had not had any answers”. The worker explains that he has relaunched his applications for the show – “It’s always good to put a face” – and that he has also submitted “a dozen” CVs. “No company seems interested in my profile,” he despairs.

“Balance between what I want and what there is to take”

La Messine Lore, who has worked for 10 years in Munich in digital marketing, is looking for a position in the field in Luxembourg, in order to be closer to her family. The Frenchwoman is cautious: “My significant experience and my mastery of French and German are assets, she notes. I only submitted regarding ten CVs so as not to scatter too much. I will then have to make the balance between what I want and what there is to take”.

For his part, Abdel, who lives in Belgium and who works remotely in Italy (!), says he is looking for a new challenge in the Grand Duchy, in the field of IT. “The sector recruits a lot,” he says, which allows him to show some requirements. “It is important that I can maintain a good balance between work and family life, in particular thanks to teleworking, he develops. Cohesion and conviviality are also important criteria in the office”.
