Owners of luxury electric sedan Lucid Airfrom the American automaker Lucid Motors, can now take advantage of the CarPlay natively in your vehicles — and best of all, without having to run any wires. According to the company, the feature now comes standard on all its cars.
Lucid Motors is known to be one of the main rivals of Tesla, which until today has not added support for CarPlay or Android Auto in its vehicles. Currently, the only way for iPhone owners to take advantage of the feature in a car from Elon Musk’s automaker is by resorting to the good old hack.
As mentioned, CarPlay in Lucid Motors cars works wirelessly, allowing the iPhone to automatically connect to the multimedia system as soon as the user enters the car. The feature only takes up a small portion of Lucid Air’s spacious 38-inch 5K display, but it’s quite possible it will fill the entire interface once Apple launches the new CarPlay.
Although the ad focuses only on CarPlay, this novelty also includes the Android Auto, which is already accessible to Lucid Air owners. Like Apple’s feature, Android Auto allows the user to access a number of applications on their smartphone without necessarily having to take their hands off the steering wheel.
Lucid Air starts at US$87,400 in the United States. In addition, those interested in purchasing the vehicle need to pay an amount of US$300 to reserve their unit.
