BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has announced a new program in the month of Ramadan with the aim of preventing the rise in prices of electricity and gas, resigning the Awami League government and implementing the previously announced 10-point demands.
He said, BNP will continue its protest once morest raising the prices of almost all products including chicken, eggs, meat, cucumber, sugar, dates, lemons and causing hardship to people at the beginning of Ramadan. We were not supposed to give political programs during Ramadan. But, in the current state of the country, we are forced to continue the movement. For that reason, I have continued various programs. We hope that the common people of the country will participate in this program.
He said these things at an iftar party at a club in the capital on Friday (March 25). BNP has organized this in honor of ulama-mashayek and orphans. Maulana Nesharul Haque, convener of the Ulama party, offered a special prayer before the Iftar.
Among the programs announced by Mirza Fakhrul is a sit-in program from 2 pm to 4 pm on April 1 in all cities and districts of the country. On April 8, stay program from 3 pm to 5 pm at the thana and upazila levels of all cities of the country. From 9 to 13 April in all divisional towns from 4 pm to 6 pm leaflet distribution and human chain. These programs will be held on April 9 in Rangpur and Chittagong divisions, on April 10 in Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions, on April 11 in Khulna and Comilla divisions, on April 12 in Dhaka and Barisal divisions, and on April 13 in Mymensingh and Faridpur divisions.
From March 28 to April 20, BNP leaders and workers at all levels will participate in various mass communication programs including meeting with people of different classes and professions, helping the poor, helpless and affected people in all cities, districts, upazilas, thanas, unions and wards across the country.
