This Friday, March 24, the Florida cinema offers a debate on illiteracy following the broadcast of the film “Brilliant” by Sylvie Gautier, released on January 18, 2023.
This is the story of Karine, employed in a cleaning company, whose increasingly untenable working conditions lead her to reveal her secret. She has an invisible handicap for which her son will no longer be a sufficient help: illiteracy.
The debate that will follow this film will be moderated by the organizers of the Maillon de Niort de la Chaîne du Savoir, an association which gives voice to learners and which carries out multiple actions once morest illiteracy. A dozen experienced trainers and people who have decided to get out of this exclusion will come to give their testimonies and discuss with the Florida public.
Locally, since January 2023, Michel Beaudreux has been leading a workshop with two other volunteer trainers that encourages people to get out of illiteracy and illiteracy, within the framework of the rural home. “We have recently helped people to use administrative sites, for example to obtain an identity card”, indicates Michel Beaudreux who recalls that 35,000 young people leave the school system with major problems understanding. “Our concern is: how to encourage people to make themselves known to us?
