The University of Wageningen has selected two vaccines once morest avian influenza “effective under laboratory conditions” on laying hens. Results to be confirmed in the field by the summer.
The HVT-H5 vaccines from Ceva Animal Health and Boehringer Ingelheim are “effective under laboratory conditions” in protecting laying hens from avian influenza, the University of Wageningen announced on March 17. These products “have been shown to be 100% effective in preventing disease and death following infection” with the highly pathogenic H5N1 virus.
