Valentina Illinger scored twice in the ÖFB victory

Austria’s U17 women missed the European Championship finals, but at the end of the qualification there was still a sense of achievement for the kickers around Valentina Illinger from Grödig.

With a 4-0 (2-0) win once morest Slovakia, Austria’s U17 women’s national soccer team said goodbye to the European Championship qualifiers. Valentina Illinger from Grödig scored the number three and four goals for coach Patrick Haidbauer’s ÖFB selection in the match in Brezice (SLO). Illinger, who belongs to the ÖFB-Frauen-Akademie in St. Pölten, was replaced in the 83rd minute by Cynthia Adamu, the sister of Salzburg striker Junior Adamu.

After two 1-0 defeats once morest group winners Switzerland and Slovenia, Austria was already without a chance of first place and thus the finals in Estonia.
