WhatsApp launches official chat with tips and news

In tests since September last year, the WhatsApp official chat finally it was released for some users of the application (both on iOS and Android), as disclosed by WABetaInfo.

As we mentioned, the chat is designed to provide users with the latest news, updates and tips on how to get the most out of WhatsApp. It is marked with a green seal of verification — ensuring that the information passed on is legitimate and helping to prevent users from falling victim to scams.

As shown in the image above, the first message that WhatsApp sent in the chat explains how to activate temporary messages, linked to an official FAQ.

The benefit of receiving these messages is that users can stay informed without having to search for the latest information; if the alerts aren’t of interest to you, however, you can archive, mute, or block the chat.

Also according to the information, the launch is being done gradually and randomly – therefore, it is not possible to open the chat if you have not received a WhatsApp message first.

Finally, it is worth noting that only WhatsApp can send messages through this channel, so it does not work as a means to ask questions, get support or make complaints.
