The first stage of the strategic YPF project to connect Vaca Muerta with the Río Negro coast was involved in a controversy, following the sudden suspension of the public hearing that had been announced. Section 1 will extend regarding 127 kilometers of the caño and will start from the YPF area in the formation to the existing network of Oleoductos del Valle (Oldelval) in Allen.
The plan contemplates a 20-inch pipeline from the Loma Campana Crude Treatment Plant (PTC) to a first point at the Lago Pellegrini Pumping Station. This segment will have an extension of 87 kilometers and will comprise the 45.1 kilometers that the work will cover in the province of Neuquén.
The second part of the 30-inch pipeline will depart from the Lago Pellegrini Pumping Station. In total, it will travel another 40 kilometers until it reaches the height of the Allen Pumping Station.
