Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, has stated that the daily supply of foreign weapons to Ukraine is bringing the nuclear apocalypse closer. Speaking on VKontakte on March 22, Medvedev emphasized that the threat of nuclear conflict has not passed, but has increased. He suggested that the West had “miscalculated” and did not see the degree of Russia’s determination. Moreover, Medvedev added that the consequences might have been avoided if Western countries had agreed to sign the documents proposed by Russia in December 2021. It is noteworthy that Moscow had proposed to the United States and NATO in December of the year before last to fix in the document the refusal to expand the North Atlantic Alliance to the east.
Every day the supply of foreign weapons to Ukraine brings the nuclear apocalypse closer, declared Dmitry Medvedev answering questions from journalists and users on VKontakte on March 22. “Has the threat of nuclear conflict passed? No, it has not passed – it has increased,” the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council emphasized.
Medvedev suggested that the West “for the time being did not believe and did not see the degree of Russia’s determination” to do what was done. “They miscalculated,” summed up the deputy head of the Security Council.
Now we are seeing consequences that would not be so difficult if Western countries agreed to sign the documents proposed by Russia in December 2021, Medvedev added.
It should be noted that in December of the year before last, Moscow proposed to the United States and NATO to fix in the document the refusal to expand the North Atlantic Alliance to the east.
In conclusion, Dmitry Medvedev’s warning regarding the supply of foreign weapons to Ukraine and the increasing threat of nuclear conflict is a reminder of the importance of effective communication and diplomacy between nations. The proposal made by Russia in December 2021 echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the need for cooperation and compromise in order to avoid further escalation of tensions. It is crucial that all parties involved in this conflict make an effort to come to the negotiating table and find a peaceful resolution that benefits all. Only through open and honest communication can we hope to avert the catastrophic consequences of nuclear war.
