Network of Urban and Rural Municipalities of Peru elected a new board of directors

Julio Chávez Rodrígo, mayor of the province of Celendín, Cajamarca, was elected president of the Network of Urban and Rural Municipalities of Peru – REMURPE, for the period 2023-2026.

Chávez said he was grateful for the support of the mayors from all over Peru who entrusted him with this responsibility, and pointed out that he will contribute to ensure that the different levels of government see the municipalities of the most remote towns as allies in the development of the country.

“We fear the desire to work for the country from our communities, however, we also need the support, accompaniment, and resources that the national government has,” he pointed.

The election of the new Board of Directors REMURPE It was held at the premises of the National Agrarian Confederation – CNA, and included the participation of mayors from all over Peru and the past president, Andrés Villar Narro.

The new directive of REMURPE It was made up as follows: President Julio Chávez Rodrigo, Provincial Mayor of Celendín, Vice President, Héctor Lolo Antonio, Mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Tayacaja, Huancavelica Region; the Secretary of Economy and Organization, fell to Segundo Herminio Vásquez Montenegro, mayor of the district municipality of Soritor, San Martín region.

Likewise, Christian Rober Fernández Julca, mayor of the district municipality of Tipán, Arequipa, was elected secretary of Local Economic Development; the Secretary of the Environment will be in charge of Mayor Benedicto Rojas Ortiz of the District Municipality of San Fernando, San Martín region; Mayor Carlos Saldaña Cusquisivan, mayor of the district municipality of Cospán, Cajamarca region, was elected secretary of Fiscal Decentralization.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of Educational Management is Rigoberto Inga López, mayor of the district municipality of Acraquia-Huancavelica; and in the capacity of secretary of communications, Franklin Nilo Rosales Cóndor, mayor of the district municipality Huncán-Junín region.

Meanwhile, Cristina Chanbizea, executive secretary of REMURPEpointed out that this organization “He has been working on decentralization, budget growth. And the new Board of Directors promised to make visible and solve the problems of the municipalities in the interior of the country, becoming the voice of the municipalities of Peru”.
