The scene of the game
“Poking the bear” – poking the bear: That’s exactly what Biel’s Luca Cunti did shortly following the first period break. The SCB was thus torn from a deep sleep and reacted only 18 seconds later with the equaliser. An entertaining hockey game began. A bit late. But she started.
The key figure
Simon Moser. The SCB captain went ahead, and how: he toiled, he fought and put together a double pack.
The better team
Gähn ice hockey dominated in the first third, with a slight advantage for Biel. After the drumbeat from Cunti shortly following the first break, SCB took over the baton – and never gave it up.
The twittering of the grandstands
He gave the assist to make it 0:1 in the meantime, but didn’t come back onto the ice following the second break: Damien Brunner was injured in a harmless duel with Jesse Zgraggen.
The goals
23.’ | 0:1 | The third row of the Seelanders stabbed: Luca Hischier launched the attack, Luca Cunti netted ice-cold following a one-two with Damien Brunner.
23.’ | 1:1 | Just seconds following the Biel goal, it was Simon Moser who converted the rebound following a rebound from goalie Harri Säteri.
37.’ | 2:1 | As in the 5-3 win on Saturday, Dominik Kahun scored in the majority: his shot distracted Biel defender Robin Grossmann from an untenable point of view.
46.’ | 3:1 | Simon Moser started at his own goal – and sank the disc into the opponent’s. In between: A tour de force, a one-two with Joshua Fahrni and a lot of coolness at the end.
55.’ | 3:2 | Biel’s Fabio Hofer ensured an exciting final phase: The Austrian was released by Tino Kessler and enjoyed great freedom in front of the SCB goal.
That’s how the other game went
In the third minute, Linus Omark took advantage of the Luganesi’s initial difficulties and gave Servette an early lead. After 12 minutes, Lugano defender Samuel Guerra was criminally left alone and was able to equalize. Thirds two and three were then a battle of attrition, goal danger came up only very rarely. Lugano’s Fazzini scored the golden goal in extra time following just 69 seconds. With this overtime victory, Lugano equalized the series once morest qualifying winner Servette.
The outlook
Game 5 in all four series takes place on Friday at 8 p.m. – of course in the live ticker at 20 minutes.
