Hirschprung’s disease: the baby of youtubeur Carlito will be operated on

At the beginning of March, in a press release published on his social networks, the videographer and youtubeur Carlito announced that he was taking a break from the frenzy of videos in which he had engulfed himself with his partner Mcfly. One of the reasons for this parenthesis was the health problems of her third childa baby boy born in mid-January.

Carlito then indicated that he knew of “sacred complications” with her then one-and-a-half-month-old baby back in the hospital. Recently, in a story posted on Instagram, the 36-year-old videographer wanted to tell his subscribers more. “The diagnosis came in and our son has Hirschprung’s disease. Behind this strange name hides a very annoying malfunction“, he said, with his baby in his arms.

As the site says Orphanet listing the rare diseasesit is indeed an intestinal dysfunction congenital and rare, related to intestinal motility and characterized by signs of intestinal obstruction. Severe constipation, vomiting and abdominal distension are the main symptoms. The Necker Hospital specifies that the frequency of this disease is estimated at approximately 1 in 5,000 births. “The cases identified are mostly sporadic, that is to say without family history”, lit-on encore on the hospital site.

Surgery as the only treatment

Once the diagnosis has been made (by enema, imaging and rectal biopsy), the treatment is surgical. It consists of removing the diseased, atrophied intestinal segment. The prognosis for this surgery is generally very good, although some children will retain intestinal dysmobility chronic, exposing them to a risk of constipation or occlusion, which requires vigilance and monitoring for lifeor even a suitable diet.

Carlito’s son will soon be operated on, as announced by the Youtubeur. “The operation takes place in 1 month. It’s hard but, if we put it into perspective, if we compare, it’s not much. At least we hope”, he indicated, taking advantage of this platform to address “a thought for the dilapidated hospitals, the rotten walls, the tired lights, the exhausted, unmotivated, underpaid staff. Great recognition and great misunderstanding regarding the lack of budget allocated to the health sector which saves us, which saves our children”.
