In partnership with BIG Festival, Abragames announces the [email protected] com Jason Della Rocca as mentor

Abragames (Brazilian Association of Digital Game Developers) announces, in partnership with BIG Festival, the holding of the first [email protected], an official game pitch competition that will take place at the festival of games, creation, networking and business, to be held between June 28 and July 2, 2023, in São Paulo. Jason Della Rocca, co-founder and business and financing consultant for games at the Canadian incubator Execution Lab and organizer of GDC Pitch, will be at the event at the invitation of Brazil Games, Abragames’ Export Sectorial Project in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) and will mentor the initiative.

During the event, at least five Latin American game development studios will have the chance to present their games to industry experts and investors; best pitch will also win two business tickets with access to the VIP Mixer at the 2024 edition of the BIG Festival

Participating studios will be able to present their projects to a jury made up of industry experts and, in addition to the opportunity to receive support from investors, the winner of the dynamic will receive the prize for best project and two business tickets with access to the VIP Mixer of the 2024 edition of the BIG Festival.

Electronic game developers from any country in Latin America can apply for the [email protected] from March 20th to May 26th via the BIG Festival form. Jason Della Rocca will give two mentorships to all interested parties, one via webinar, on May 17, and another in person at the BIG Festival.

“O [email protected] will give studios the chance to impress some of the game industry’s most highly regarded professionals and close a deal in a matter of minutes. In addition, it will be a great opportunity for the public and other studios present to follow the presentations and use the feedback from industry experts for their own projects”, highlights Eliana Russi, director of operations at Brazil Games.

About Jason Della Rocca

Jason Della Rocca is a co-founder and business consultant and annually organizes the GDC Pitch. An expert in gaming finance, he led Canadian incubator Execution Lab and has decades of experience in the games industry, having invested in more than 20 independent game studios across North America and Europe. From 2000 to 2009, he served as Executive Director of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) and was honored with the inaugural Ambassador Award at the
Game Developers Conference (GDC). In 2009, he was named to Game Developer Magazine’s “Power 50”. Today, he remains a prominent figure in the industry, lecturing and leading conferences at universities around the world.
