French motorcycle pilot Clement Stoll died in a violent crash at the age of 27.
This was announced at a press conference by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the organizer of the legendary 24-hour race in Le Mans.
Racing star dies following a serious fall
What happened? On Wednesday, the racing driver had an accident during a test on the “Circuit Paul Armagnac” in the French municipality of Nogaro. According to media reports, Stoll hit the asphalt hard and his heart stopped.
After emergency aid and several attempts at resuscitation on site, the pilot was finally taken to a hospital in Toulouse. There, the emergency doctors might no longer save Stoll’s life, and the motorcycle star succumbed to his severe injuries.
The long-distance motorcycle series EWC in a statement: “It is with deep regret that we announced that Clement Stoll lost his life today. The driver fell earlier this week and went into cardiorespiratory arrest (red.).”
His racing team Energie Endurance writes: “Our thoughts are with his family. He was a friend, always smiling. We will cherish his smile and singing accent in our memories.”
Stoll’s friend, Maco Racing driver Enzo Boulom adds: “We have known each other for 13 years. What a journey. I’m proud to have been your friend. What a great person and talented pilot. Much strength to his parents who helped him to live his dream.”
In April, racing driver Stoll wanted to celebrate his fifth participation in the racing classic with his compatriots Alex Sarrabayrouse and Adrien Parasol on a Honda CBR1000RR-R at the motorcycle version of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
