Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Abdoulaye Diop, president of the UEmoa commission will face the deputies of the UEmoo interparliamentary committee (CIP-Uemoa). This exercise is held “In accordance with the provisions of Articles 26 and 36 of the Union Treaty, the President of the WAEMU Commission submits each year to the Deputies who are members of the WAEMU Interparliamentary Committee, a general report on the functioning and the evolution of the Union” The presentation of the report on the Union will focus on the State of the Union for the year 2021. It is held in Niamey in Niger.
Members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the President following the presentation. the CIP-UEMOA is the embryo of the UEMOA parliament, it is composed of 5 deputies per country.
The presentation will be followed by discussions with the deputies of the 8 Member States represented on the WAEMU Interparliamentary Committee. The latter is made up of 5 deputies per state, appointed by the legislative body of each member state.
