The Michael J. Fox Foundation, created by the eponymous actor, has just donated $600,000 to Lys Therapeutics, a biotechnology company located in Caen (Calvados). Fund preclinical research
Installed on the Cyceron plateau campus, the laboratory, which is currently developing a monoclonal antibody, will be able to launch preclinical research thanks to this sum. The company then hopes to start a clinical trial for Parkinson’s disease. A disease that affects 25,000 people in France each year and from which Michael J. Fox, the famous actor of Back to the future.
The assistance provided by his foundation “will make it possible to considerably accelerate our preclinical and clinical developments, and to extend our presence in the United States in addition to Europe”, indicated Manuel Blanc, CEO of Lys Therapeutics, in a communicated.
