KILLED IT! Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 outperforms 8 Gen 1 in first tests

O Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 it is a real powerhouse in terms of processing. Qualcomm had already promised above-average performance even before its launch, but this has now been proven in a test carried out by Android Authority. According to the tests, its main core with 2.91 Hz max speed can be better than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 by approximately 45%.

Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 outperforms 8 Gen 1 in first tests

With an 8-core processor, including a maximum performance Cortex-X2 working at up to 2,91 GHz3 high-performance Cortex-A710 working at up to 2,49 GHz and 4 Cortex-A510 operating at 1,8 GHzthis new chip is capable of surpassing even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in some respects.

Tests carried out by Android Authority showed that the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 has a CPU better than the 8 Gen 1 in some respects, with a score of 1211 points in single core e 4024 cores in multi-core on Geekbench 5. The chip also outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 equipped in a Galaxy S22 Ultra, symbolizing a technical tie and 17% advantage for the 7 Plus Gen 2. The jump over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is even more impressive, with wins of 45% with one core and 30% with all cores.

Outperforming on charts

As for the graphics, although the GPU of the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 is not as impressive as that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s launch still offers an absurd leap over the Snapdragon 778G Plus and to Snapdragon 7 Gen 1with wins of 170% and 150%, respectively.

With a score of 7,575 points in the 3DMark Wild Life test, Qualcomm’s new chip nearly ties with Samsung’s Exynos 2200’s Xclipse 920 graphics, which utilize AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture. The 7 Plus Gen 2 may not compete with the 8 Gen 1, but it still has the stamina to face almost all mobile games, including the heaviest ones, with good fluidity and graphic quality.

Furthermore, the chip shines in terms of stability, maintaining performance virtually all the time in extended testssurpassing even the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 present in the powerful ASUS ROG Phone 6, which in theory should be superior for presenting an improved cooling of a gamer smartphone.
