The exhibition “Being women at ESMA” is presented in Washington

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights organizes the traveling exhibition “Being women at ESMA”, which will be presented on March 31 at the Marcus Garvey Gallery, Casa de las Américas, Washington, DC

The exhibition presents testimonies of women who were detained at the Army Mechanical School (Esma), during the years of the last dictatorship, in which this space functioned as a clandestine detention and torture center.

As part of its work to promote memory, truth and justice, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights seeks with this exhibition to create a space that reflects the unique impact suffered by women in the context of the dictatorship and armed conflicts.

The exhibition will be available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Casa de las Americas (17th St and Constitution Ave., NW Washington, DC)
