Samsung produces OLED screens more efficient than BOE and attracts interest from Apple and Xiaomi

Samsung is one of the most important companies in the industry of screens for mobile phones, tablets and much more. To win this title, the company invested heavily in techniques that draw the attention of renowned customers, such as Apple and vivo, who use OLED panels from LG’s rival manufacturer on the iPhone 14 Pro and vivo X90 Pro Plus.

According to information released on Monday (20) by the leaker Revegnus no Twitter, a Luminosity and energy efficiency is the main advantage of Samsung’s OLED screens. Compared to components from BOE, a Chinese rival, energy consumption is almost 75% lower in cell phones equipped with the South Korean technology.

Independent enthusiast reviews on Bilibili show that the Huawei Mate 50 RS consumes around 1.7 W to illuminate its 1212 x 2616 pixel OLED screen produced by BOE. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra with Samsung’s E5 OLED screen uses just 1W to light the significantly higher resolution display of 1440 x 3200 pixels.

The vivo X90 Pro Plus is even more advantageous in this regard. Equipped with the new OLED E6 screen, the model spends only 0.5 W to illuminate its 1,440 x 3,200 pixel screen. The expectation is that, with the high efficiency of this generation of panels, the market will show a high demand for Samsung components.
