Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the port city of Mariupol on Sunday in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, which has been under the control of Russian troops since May 2022.

From the Kremlin, they reported that the Russian leader arrived in the city by helicopter and toured various areas of the town. He also spoke with local residents to find out regarding his situation.
Through a statement it was learned that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnulin informed the Russian President regarding the reconstruction works in the city and its surroundings.

“Specifically, it is regarding the construction of new neighborhoods, social facilities, educational facilities, housing infrastructure and public services and medical institutions,” the Kremlin text specified.
Official Russian media indicated that Vladimir Putin held a meeting at the command post of the special military operation in the city of Rostov-on-Don and listened to the reports from the chief of the Russian General Staff, Valeri Gerasimov, and other military commanders.
