Image correction affects CPU, graphics, memory, and storage. Recently, the graphics card’s GPU is widely used to display, process, and export images, but CPU speed is also important, and high speed and large capacity are important for memory as a temporary storage destination for images. Of course, the faster the storage, the faster the processing. When it comes to processing video, you need even more specs than that.

The DAIV DD-I9G90 is equipped with the current top-level specs, and is considered to be the most comfortable processing so far. Let’s try it.

In the CINEBENCH R23 test that measures CPU performance, the result is 2238 for single core and 31815 for multicore. Regardless of single core, multi-core performance is quite high performance. RAW development with Adobe Camera Raw uses the CPU, so it seems to be effective in such scenes.

3Dmark is used to measure GPU performance. Time Spy scored 29785, graphics 34943 and CPU 16062. The PCmark 10 result is 9683.

Storage measured with CrystalDiskMark 8. Sequential read and write speeds are sufficiently fast. This time it’s a standard BTO SSD, but if you use a high-speed Samsung SSD, you can expect even faster speeds.

Both show high performance, which is excessive for everyday use, but at a level that feels reliable when processing images and videos.

What regarding Lightroom Classic actually? I loaded 100 RAW data from Nikon Z 9 and tested it. Although it is an image of a full-size sensor with regarding 45.71 million pixels, if it is regarding 100 images, the thumbnail display is fast and it is not verified, but of course the same size display is also fast and does not feel stuck.

Switch the setting item of “Use graphics processor” in “Camera Raw” in “Performance” of setting to “Off” (use CPU) and “Custom” (use GPU for all display, image processing, export) When exporting 100 images with automatic correction, it took 79 seconds on the CPU and 45.8 seconds on the GPU. The larger the number of sheets, the wider this difference will be, and the effect will be great when processing a large amount of data.

When you transfer an image to Photoshop and apply a filter, the CPU works hard all at once. 32 cores in action is spectacular

Opening 100 images in Photoshop consumed 56.7GB of memory. 64GB may be a little unsatisfactory, but BTO can be expanded up to 128GB

Next, a test of video processing using Adobe Premiere Pro. I also used Z 9’s 4K and 8K images. For the Z 9, it supports video recording from 120p to 24p at 4K (3,840 x 2,160). In addition, you can shoot at 30p, 25p, and 24p at 8K (7,680 x 4,320). 8K has 33,177,600 pixels, so the resolution is sufficient even for still image extraction, but it is difficult to process it unless it is a high-speed machine because it is a video with that much capacity.

If you load the video file into Premiere Pro, you can comfortably edit even 8K video. You can move to any position with ease without getting caught in the preview seek. It was comfortable to be able to apply multiple processes smoothly without stopping even with the application of effects.

I tried capturing multiple 8K videos shot with the Z 9, but the speed does not make me feel that it is a high resolution.The seek bar can be moved briskly, so you can edit without stagnation

When I exported a 9.34GB 8K video (3 minutes 26 seconds) to a 4K H.264 video, it was 2 minutes 54 seconds, which was slightly faster than the actual time. The GPU is used to speed things up quite a bit. Of course, the longer it takes, the more time it will take, but it can be said that it has become possible to speed up to this point.
