“Key Spring Phenomena Revealed by Meteorology: Drastic and Swift Weather Shifts”

The Meteorological Authority has announced its predictions for the climate during the spring season in Egypt. According to the authority, the spring season will start on March 21, 2023, and will last for three months. Spring is a transitional season from the cold and wet winter to the hot and humid summer in Egypt, and the moderate temperature is expected to stay for long periods of time. However, the season experiences sharp and abrupt weather changes, and Khamaseen depressions may occur. These depressions come from the Libyan desert to the western desert of Egypt, bringing with them active southwesterly winds known as Khamseen winds that cause sand and dust to rise, leading to a decrease in visibility on roads. Khamseen winds are also accompanied by a rise in temperature and humidity levels, followed by a thermal drop that leads to rain of varying intensity in the north of the country. Additionally, the activity of the Red Sea depression (Sudan) affects the south of the country and the mountain ranges of the Red Sea and Sinai, leading to rain, which might reach torrential rainfall in the mountainous areas. The Meteorological Authority added that they would issue weather warnings ahead of expected instability.

Books – Muhammad Abdel Nasser:

The Meteorological Authority announced a description of the climate during the spring season in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as it is expected that the spring season will begin on Tuesday, corresponding to March 21, 2023, and will last for three months.

It is a transitional season that moves us from the cold and rain of the winter to the heat and humidity of the summer, and the spring season is characterized by moderate temperatures most of the time.

And the Authority continued: This season usually witnesses sharp and rapid weather fluctuations, as the Khamaseen depressions are formed coming from the Libyan desert and heading to the western desert of Egypt, accompanied by active southwesterly winds, which is known as the (Khamseen) winds, which stir sand and dust and lead to the deterioration of horizontal vision on the roads and accompany this. Extreme heat waves and a noticeable decrease in humidity levels, then a thermal coup and a noticeable drop in temperatures occur, and this leads to rains of varying intensity in areas of the north of the country.

The authority indicated that the activity of the Red Sea depression (Sudan) (seasonal) affects the south of the country and the mountain ranges of the Red Sea and Sinai, and this leads to rain that may reach torrential rains in the mountainous areas.

The authority stated that weather warnings of expected instability during this season will be issued well in advance of their occurrence.

In conclusion, as we welcome the spring season in Egypt, it is important to remain aware of the weather fluctuations that come with it. The Meteorological Authority has already issued warnings and will continue to do so throughout the season. While the moderate temperatures may be a welcome change, we must be prepared for extreme heat waves, sandstorms, and even torrential rains in certain areas. Let us enjoy the beauty of spring while staying mindful of the potential risks that come with it. Stay safe and have a great season!
