Update (03/19/2023) – GS
Disney Plus arrived as an opportunity to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe through series that connect and expand the films to the big screen.
So far, we’ve had great highlights like WandaVision, Miss Marvel, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight and many others. Among the platform’s productions, we had Loki, who not only introduced us to a new version of the God of Lies, but also helped to expand the concept of time travel and the Multiverse.
Loki had a second season confirmed right when the first season ended, but so far, we still don’t know what the content of that continuation will be.
Previously, Marvel indicated that the second season of Loki would premiere sometime in the North American summer of 2023 (between June and September), having even revealed some small previews of the production, but without an official premiere date.
We recently heard that Loki season 2 would be released before The Marvels hit theaters. The film was currently slated for release in late July, but Marvel recently pushed it back to November.
According to Direct, Disney has quietly updated the website that lists upcoming Disney Plus attractions. Loki season 2 now has an estimate of “shortly”rather than “summer 2023”.
While the series still has a chance to debut this year, this should impact the debut of other Marvel Studios productions, including Secret Invasion, What If…? Season 2, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again.
Secret Invasion should be the first MCU Phase 5 production to debut on Disney Plus this year, but it also doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
Are you looking forward to upcoming Marvel Studios premieres on Disney Plus?

Disney has already announced several news for its streaming platform involving Star Wars and Marvel franchise titles, but today we have news of yet another: the second season of Loki, which was confirmed by a Disney Plus promotional video.
The sequel to the first season will be released in 2023 and it looks like Loki will have a lot to reckon with due to the events that have taken place so far, as the God of Mischief appears being interrogated in an alternate version of the TVA.
Soon following, Loki appears next to Mobius hatching some plan, as Owen Wilson says, “a little over the top, don’t you think?” At this point we notice that there are two other Loki beside them, which may indicate yet another twist, as several alternative versions of the protagonist were presented in the first season.
Will Loki ally himself with other versions once more to try to get out of this mess or would we be too much just illusory copies of the villain / anti-hero? Unfortunately, Disney and Marvel still haven’t released when the new season will premiere, but we can expect a lot from it in 2023.
