Como usar o Picture-in-Picture (PiP) no Telegram [iPhone, iPad e Mac]

Here in the MacMagazinewe’ve already shown you how to use the mode Picture-in-Picture on YouTube and WhatsApp. What many don’t know is that there is also the possibility of using this resource in the Telegram — main competitor of Messenger from Meta.

In this article, we’ll show you how you can do this for both incoming/outgoing videos and video calls. This way, you can navigate to other parts of the app without having to leave the media or call.

Let’s go?! ????

How to use PiP in Telegram video calls

In our tests, the option to use PiP only appeared on calls answered using the iPhone/iPad. On the Mac and on the web, however, you can simply drag the link window to any corner of the screen so that it doesn’t obstruct what you’re currently doing.

On iPhone/iPad, answer the call normally. Then tap the arrow located in the upper left corner, on “Back”. With that, a thumbnail of the video will be shown in one of the corners. Although it is not possible to resize it, you can drag it to any of the corners.

How to use PiP on videos sent/received on Telegram

No iPhone/iPad

Open the conversation and tap on the desired video (or on the play button, in the case of YouTube videos). Then tap on the PiP button (in the upper right corner).

To adjust the size of the window, just use the pinch gesture or drag it wherever you want.

For Mac by the web

In the case of the app for macOS or on the web, the option to watch a video in PiP appears only for those that have been uploaded natively — that is, links uploaded from YouTube, for example, do not work.

That said, open the conversation where the video is located. Then click on it to view it in full size. In the macOS app, select the PiP icon on the right side of the play button (first from left); on the web, click on the video and then select the icon next to the “1x”.

Pretty cool, isn’t it?! ????
