In a speech he delivered this Saturday, March 18, 2023, to the participants in the 25th Maghreb Congress of Cardiology, organized jointly with the 9th edition of the Mauritanian Society of Cardiology (SMAC), the Minister of Health, Moctar Dahi n did not fail to salute the efforts made by the National Cardiology Center (CNC) and members of the SMAC to treat our patients and thus avoid costly evacuations abroad in the country. This present meeting falls within this framework and allows, through an exchange of experiences, to strengthen the capacity of our cardiologists. Finally, the minister thanked the guests from the Maghreb, West Africa, Europe and Asia for their generous contributions.
Previously, the president of the Mauritanian society of cardiology, Pr. Khaled Boye had thanked his foreign colleagues for having sacrificed their time, in order to honor with their presence the congresses of Nouakchott. He then indicated that “the joint holding of the two congresses aims to exchange experiences but also to strengthen cooperation between the different structures in charge of heart pathologies in the different member countries. Finally, he thanked the CNC, the Ministry of Health, the Region of Nouakchott and certain institutions, including the WHO, for their support.
The official opening ceremony of the two congresses was also marked by the presentation of trophies to participants in the Champion’s League of Maghreb residents in Mauritania. It should be noted that within the framework of partnerships with certain University Hospitals, the CNC receives students from certain Maghreb countries in its various departments.
Started yesterday Friday, March 17 at the old convention center, the work of the 25th Maghreb Cardiology Congress will end tomorrow Sunday. By then, participants will have finished working on 23 scientific sessions, nine workshops and 5 plenary conferences and symposia. Sessions for general practitioners are also on the program.
