The release of these remastered versions is planned in the year 2024, on PC and consoles, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the license. A demo of the remaster of Little Big Adventure 1 will be made available during the Steam Neo Fest, from June 19 to 26, 2023.
Little Big Adventure: a nugget from the 90s
Games Little Big Adventure are jewels of the French video game of the 90s initially developed by Adeline Software International, Lyon studio, and worn by Didier Chanfray and Frédérick Raynal (Alone in the Dark), two figures who have marked the history of video games in France. The first opus was released in 1994 and was followed by a second in 1997. We follow the adventures of Twinsena rather unremarkable citizen under the dictatorship of the evil Dr. Funfrock to save people and the planet.
Building on their success in France, both commercially and critically, the two opuses of the game have been able to export in many ways to several countries such as Brazil, Germany and the United States. It is estimated the sales of Little Big Adventure to 500,000 copies and those of Little Big Adventure 2 to 800,000 upon their initial release. These two video game nuggets have, since their arrival on Steam in 2012, achieved 200,000 sales.
A complete remaster
In these remastered versions of Little Big Adventure 1 et 2players will finally be able to relive the adventures of Twinsen and travel from island to island.
- A complete graphic and technical overhaul – Each opus will experience a complete technical and graphical overhaul, under the Unreal Engine 5, and by rebuilding the game from A to Z. They will benefit from fluid animations, camera tracking and high visual resolution to a rendering of the planet Twinsun worthy of a new generation. The artistic direction of the game has been entrusted to the Brazilian artist Paulo Torinno.
- Completely reworked controls – Analog controls will make it possible to control Twinsen in a more subtle way. New abilities, such as evasion, the ability to switch weapons instantly, will create new possibilities for players. The option to use the original controls of the game will remain possible for the most purist of players.
- Sublimated music – Thanks to the incredible work of composer Philippe Vachey, the game’s soundtrack became an instant classic. 30 years later, it is high time that these musics are re-enchanted with remastered versions for the 2 games.
Little Big Adventure 3: what news?
While the studio announces the arrival of these remastered versions of the original games in the series, the release, initially scheduled for 2024, of the reboot of Little Big Adventure will be postponed. The game continues its development and the studio [2.21] will announce more details at a later date on this highly anticipated game from a large community of fans.
