all the brackets in the trash!

Every year during March Madness, fans and other Hexperts give their predictions on the final table by completing the famous bracket, in the (very very meager) hope of winning millions of dollars but also and above all for fun. This year, more than 20 million brackets were filled before the start of the big college tournament. They are now all in the trash.

The huge feat achieved by the University of Fairleigh Dickinson once morest Purdue yesterday shattered the hopes of the few who still possessed a perfect bracket. According to the official NCAA website, there were 787 good brackets left following the March Madness day one results, and then only 26 by the time FDU took on Purdue. All 26 brackets had logically opted for Purdue, seeded #1 and big favorite of his meeting. The rest, we know.

The fact that all the brackets are now in the trash perfectly symbolizes the first lap of madness that we have just experienced, a first lap full of surprises. Among the biggest:

  • Princeton (#15) beating Arizona (#2) 59-55
  • Furman (#13) beat Virginia (#4) : 68-67
  • Fairleigh Dickinson (#16) qui bat Purdue (#1) : 63-58

No bracket will therefore see the second round this year.

For the record, know that the man who lasted the longest in history correctly predicted the first 49 matches of the tournament in 2019, thus arriving until the Sweet 16 with a perfect bracket.
