My Little Prince – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale – The Little Prince who thinks he is Alice!

Another puzzle game!!! Is it Ravensburger trying to find a place in the video game market or what?

It’s funny anyway. A few weeks following the release of Alice in Wonderland – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale, another title from the same publisher arrives. It’s exactly the same game by the way, hence the similar title. We take the same and start once more ?

It’s not the size that matters !

My Little Prince – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale is therefore a puzzle game. You doubted? You take Alice in Wonderland – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale, you keep Katia Numakura for the illustrations, and you put the tale of the Little Prince as the headliner. So. It’s the same game otherwise. With the same qualities… but above all the same faults. As for Alice, the subtlety is the variety of puzzle sizes. You can turn each of these twelve images into 60, 135, 240, 375, and 735 coins. So I warn you right away: as much discovery in 60-piece mode, that’s fine, but then when you go up in delirium until you try 735 pieces, it’s torture.

change your eyes

It’s a bit stupid, because in the end, a 60-piece puzzle is for children. We give them that at 6 years old and it keeps them busy for part of the followingnoon. But there is no challenge. We adults, puzzle fans, prefer to tackle 500 or 1000 pieces. Except that in real life, you don’t move a puzzle piece with a stick while having to hold down the A key. And that’s the whole problem with this title. When you suffer with the joystick to move a piece, imagine the mess for a large puzzle.

It’s not a maze

Fortunately, to fix this mess a bit, a table is broken down into 4 distinct blocks. We can choose to swing all the pieces and we manage (like in real life) or we can take care of the 4 corners of the puzzle independently. It is a convenient option. Well, that doesn’t prevent the cursor from having a tortoise speed, which cannot be configured, and readability from flying high when you have to zoom out. And it’s a shame because Katia Numakura’s illustrations are superb.

Too cheeky!

My Little Prince – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale is another puzzle game, it might also be a DLC of Alice in Wonderland – A Jigsaw Puzzle Tale. But, DLC or full game, Alice or Little Prince, the problem is that the gameplay is still just as frustrating. So I will give the same advice once more: go buy yourself a real box, take a herbal tea and treat yourself on your coffee table.
