At the same time, a supplier of six completely new sheds is also sought – also covered with sedum and markings.

In Targówek, Ursynów and Bemowo

At the same time, as in Targówek, smooth transparent windows will be replaced with labels to make them more visible to birds.

Six completely new shelters will be set up by ZTM in Bemowo – at the stops: Os. Leśne 01 and 02 and Fort Bema 01 and 02 and in Rembertów, at the stops Rembertów-Akademia 01 and Rembertów Ratusz 01. It purifies the air and cools it

Sedum is a plant that is becoming more and more popular in Warsaw, both on the roofs of bus shelters and tram tracks. It is perfect for urban conditions and tolerates adverse climatic conditions well. It is maintenance-free – it does not require watering and fertilization, it looks fresh and aesthetic for a long time.

At the same time, the plant has a beneficial effect on air quality – sedum from the roof of one shed reduces its pollination in its area by approx. 15-20%. and absorbs 7.3 kg of carbon dioxide per year. On hot days, it lowers the temperature under the shelter by 3-5 degrees Celsius. During rain, it stores up to 150 liters of water, which contributes to the retention of rainwater. Thanks to the long flowering period, it also favors insects.

Safe for birds

The windows of the new sheds will be marked with a dense grid of dots applied by screen printing. Such markings warn birds once morest a collision with the transparent, standard shed window, which is often invisible to them.

The company that wins the tender procedure for green roofs will have five months from the date of signing the modernization contract. Another six shelters are to appear at stops within eight months. After the works are completed, the number of green bus stops in Warsaw will increase to 77.
