7.0 magnitude earthquake in Tumbes leaves a girl injured when the roof fell on her

A four-year-old girl was seriously injured when the roof of her home located on Bolívar street collapsed, following the 7.0 magnitude earthquake. The minor is undergoing emergency surgery. No other victims are known at this time.

The fall of some walls and part of the infrastructure of the old houses in the city is also being reported.

According to the report of the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), the earthquake was registered this Saturday, March 18, at 12:12:52 pm local time, with a magnitude of 7.0 and a depth of 78 km. The epicenter was located 85 km NE of Zarumilla, in Tumbes.

The epicenter of this earthquake was in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where it also had a magnitude of 7.0.

In Piura, the citizens also left their houses because it felt strong.
