“Customers are unanimous in smiling. And it’s not just because of the good weather…” Consequently, Michel Filzi, president of RX France, organizer of Mipim in Cannes, also displays a big smile.
The 2023 edition of this major international professional real estate meeting, which has just ended, is a great success with some 23,000 professionals – including a quarter of investors – from 90 countries.
If the 2022 vintage had already been good, this one, with +15% “is still above, we have returned to similar visitor levels to pre-crisis levels. We are consolidating our position as the global number 1 dedicated to real estate”confirms the manager.
But the show has also evolved towards city planning. “A growing trend”which has given rise to novelties such as the Forum of elected officials, which brought together around a hundred French mayors and presidents of agglomerations, a way for them to connect with private actors and investors. “We want Mipim to be a place where cities meet and inspire each other.”
Another innovation, the Road to Zero: 400m2 bringing together innovative service providers in the environment at the service of cities. “This is another heavy trend that is already in place in our other RX shows. Decarbonization has become a central theme.” Finally, MIPIM 2023 launched the first edition of the Co-Liv Summit, a new international summit dedicated to coliving.
If the smile was on everyone’s lips, the competition “was nevertheless fierce among the exhibitors”, points out Michel Filzi.
