One of the most interesting features of apple maps certainly is the 3D visualization of important points around the world, which is part of the renewed Maps app (Maps).
Thinking regarding extolling this feature, Canadian developers André Baev and Simon Gardinier recently launched the application Landmarkswith a collection of over 300 of these three-dimensional landmarks.
Each landmark in the app is an immersive animated landscape that you can interact with. Other app features include:
- Pause and resume animation.
- Time travel.
- Light and dark themes.
- Sync favorite landmarks across all your devices.
- Hide and show labels.
Landmarks are organized by city and the app will be regularly updated with new templates as they become available. Users can also suggest new cities and landmarks.
The app is free on the App Store, but there is an optional gyroscope feature that can be unlocked for just $10 for users who want to support the developers. It is available for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and requires a device with at least an A12 or M1 chip to correctly display 3D landmarks in color and detail.
