RMeeting recently in ordinary session of the current month, the Council of the TangerTétouan-Al Hoceima region approved a series of conventions and projects aimed at developing tourism in the region.

With a budget of 300 million dirhams (MDH), the first agreement sealed between the Regional Council, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, in addition to the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), aims to create and activate a support mechanism for investment as well as for tourism SMEs and VSEs operating in the region.
In addition, this agreement aims to improve the competitiveness of the region’s tourist offer, according to a program that complies with international standards. The latter will be implemented by the “Regional Tourism Development Company” whose creation is the subject of the second partnership agreement between the parties to the 1st agreement. This same program will thus contribute to improving the competitiveness of the region’s tourist offer and to supporting the sustainability of tourist SMEs and VSEs. As for the third convention, it aims to create tourist circuits in natural spaces and mountainous areas, with a budget of around 30 MDH over two years. And this, in order to create competitive tourist centers aimed at strengthening the attractiveness of the region and raising it to the rank of destinations of choice at the national and international levels. The Council also approved a 4th convention relating to the development of a program for the development and promotion of the tourism sector in the region. This links it with the wilaya of the region, the supervisory ministry and the Regional Tourism Council (CRT), for which a budget of around 3 MDH will be allocated between 2023 and 2025.
