Lunda Norte: children die in the centrality after falling from the eighth floor – news

Two female children, aged seven and four years old, lost their lives at the beginning of the night of this Thursday, 16th, in the centrality of the urban district of Mussungue, city of Dundo, capital of Lunda Norte, following having fallen from an apartment on the eighth floor of the building where they lived with their parents.

According to José Lucama, a resident of zone VI, quoted by Jornal de Angola, in the area where the children lived, everything happened when they were playing on the porch of the house.

The witness explained that the children climbed onto a plastic table and later fell from the eighth floor, but “mightn’t resist the impact of the fall”, he said.

With a total of 419 buildings with five, nine, eleven and eighteen floors, the centrality of Mussungue comprises 5,004 apartments of different types.

Since 2015, when the largest housing project built by the Executive in the province of Lunda Norte, with the aim of minimizing the great demand for the dream of owning a home, the centrality has successively registered sad cases of death, allegedly resulting from accidents , including suicides involving children, adolescents and adults.

In February of this year, a twenty-year-old girl lost her life following jumping from the ninth floor.
