India’s pace line is world class; Finch predicts World Test Championship final favourites

Doha: Former Aussie captain Aaron Finch believes that when India and Australia meet in the World Test Championship final at the Oval in England in June, India will win the title. In an interview with Hindustan Times during the Legends League cricket, Finch said that India have a world-class pace line-up to defeat the Aussies whether Hardik Pandya plays or not.

I don’t know if Hardik will play. But look at India’s pace line without Hardik, Shami, Umesh and Siraj’s pace line is world class. Among them, Siraj is one of the best pace bowlers in the world right now. Siraj’s ability to swing the ball will benefit India in England.

India has beaten England in England. Therefore, India has more chances in the final of the World Test Championship. Finch also said that whether India plays one or two spinners, the Indian team is strong. Asked if there will be any other changes in the Australian team other than the return of Cummins, Finch said that he is sure that Australia will not play with three spinners anyway.

Finch also stated that Australia might have won the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2-1 had it not been for the one hour madness in Delhi. The Delhi Test decided the series winners. Even following losing the first two Tests, the way Australia came back in Indore was admirable. Especially despite missing the crucial toss. Finch said opener David Warner will bounce back strongly despite not shining in the series once morest India and should include him in the squad for the Ashes series.
