a real headache – MALI24

Today to have access to enroll for the new biometric card which will serve as the identity card, the voting card for the various elections to come according to the new transitional authorities, has become a real obstacle course.
Today to hope to be enrolled, you have to spend the night either in a police station or in a gendarmerie brigade. And sometimes that’s not enough because everything often changes at the last minute.
The bitter observation in all this is that there are only two (2) agents in most of these places who are responsible for enrolling hundreds of people who show up every day. And the worst part is that among the hundreds of people who show up at the various police stations or gendarmerie brigades, the majority return home empty-handed without having access to enlistment because the number of people enlisted per day does not exceed not 50 in some places and others between 20 to maximum 30.
The questions that torment the mind of the average citizen are:
Are we in serious condition?
What are the authorities of the transition really hiding?
For some, the authorities knowingly proceed in this way because they know well that at this rate, it is impossible to enroll all Malians even in one year. Further others feel that it is done on purpose to extend the dates of new elections.
The Minister of Homeland Security and Civil Protection is questioned so that we can review the procedure for enlistment, otherwise at this rate we can say that everything is doomed to failure.
